We had a lot of fun with this one. It helped me get on the TV show American Inventor. I licensed it to a great couple of guys named Sam and Scott. They came close to making a good business around it, but it didn’t work out.
American Inventor TV show
The Video Gift Box product got me on this popular TV show, which had over 21 million viewers for some episodes. I didn’t win the million dollar prize, but it was quite an adventure.
I think I could have won the grand prize, or at least come close. But someone needs to go back in time and tell me, “You are thinking about the show Survivor as your model of how to compete here. Instead you need to think about other Simon Cowell shows, especially Amnerican Idol.” Oh well!
The ABC logo on American Inventor
Here’s a fun side story from my adventure on the American Inventor show. ABC shot video of my underwater toy in action, then made use of it in a custom version of the ABC logo. They used it on promotional spots for the show. This is in slow motion. The main bubble ring is expanding to the left of the logo.
